Definitely need goggles and need to work in area that you don't mind looking like a beach when you're done. I just poured in some play sand directly from the bag and it worked great with no clogs. Works great small jobs, but I wouldn't try to do anything bigger than a few odds and ends. Very straight forward set up and assembly.
GET GOGGLES. This sand blaster was used to clean the frame of my Jeep Wrangler. A quick twist and they were gone but it was an inconvenience. not glasses. I was using medium grit. For under $50.00 I was very skeptical if this was going to work or not.
There were some larger pebbles that would jam up in the nozzle. I just took a hammer to knock off the heavy stuff and cleaned it up with the blaster. It works DAMN well for the price. I suspect that fine grit would have been less difficult to blast with. I'm still plucking sand from my eyes. My only problems were with the sand.
I ended up sifting the sand with a screen and the reliability was perfect.
my compressor was too small to handle it. Should disclose that separate air supply is required. . Photo and description suggests this is sandblaster. I returned the unit and the returns process worked flawlessly. It's a sandblasting nozzle with a plastic container and a hose. It's not. Requires a separate air supply.
I tried using sand but it didn't work and had to use black beauty for the job. You need to shake canister often so material will come out after level is down to 1/4. I guess since I didn't pay much for it I shouldn't expect much. You have to hold the tip less than 2" from what you are working with.
Product overall worked as advertised so I'll recommend it. The container and connections are flimsy but easily re-inforced.
